What is NAD+ and What are the Benefits of NAD+ IV Therapy?

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, or NAD, is an amino acid that naturally occurs in our body and plays a vital role in generating energy. As we grow older, our NAD levels diminish and further deteriorate because of stress, lack of sleep, poor eating habits, and consumption of drugs and alcohol. NAD+ is used to improve mental clarity, restore energy, improve athletic performance, aid with anxiety and depression symptoms, cope with stress, improve management of PTSD symptoms, and help minimize cravings for alcohol and drugs. NAD+ may actually prolong life, protect DNA, slow down aging and help restore function in neurodegenerative illness due to its effects on the genes that govern aging.

Is IV Therapy Safe?

Yes, IV therapy is very safe. All of our vitamins are FDA-approved and go through high levels of testing before they’re made available to our clients. All IV drips are administered by a licensed provider. Before any client receives IV therapy, we evaluate their health history to evaluate the safety of treatment.

Does IV Therapy Have Side Effects?

Patients getting IV therapy rarely have any side effects. During your infusion, you’ll have a trained medical provider monitoring you. Possible after-effects can include slight soreness at the injection site and feelings of heat. Some vitamins and minerals, such as magnesium, are known to work as a vasodilator or expand blood vessels. As a result, the infusion may lower your blood pressure levels, causing light-headedness. If you have any of these signs, the provider will lower the rate at which the serum enters your body and will monitor you closely.

How Often Should You Get IV Therapy?

If you’re generally healthy, IV therapy just once or twice a month could be enough to infuse your body with the nutrients it needs for optimal wellness and performance. Some treatments, such as NAD+ for addiction, may be done weekly.

What can I expect during the treatment?

Your provider will start off with a full evaluation, and a shared decision will be made on how to proceed. You will sit in a comfortable reclining chair. Anesthetic ointment to numb the skin or injection of local anesthesia may be provided. An IV catheter is introduced into a vein, typically in the arm, using a small needle. This is then attached, and fluids are administered through the IV over 30-60 minutes.

Does IV Therapy hurt?

There is minimal pain, and most patients do not require topical anesthetic.

Are additional treatments needed?

Talk to your provider about your aesthetic and health goals to set realistic expectations and design a complete treatment plan that may include more than one type of treatment, as well as recommendations on the timing and scheduling of various treatments.
